Is a "B" flywheel housing interchangeable with an "A" flywheel housing? I'm working on the Burtz block today, and the A housing we have has a broken starter bolt boss, but we have a B housing out in the shed on a parts motor, but it looks different at the rear of the pan.
We are also going to install a '39 trans. next fall and I was wondering if we can use the V-8 pressure plate and disc that we already have, with the A trans. and the lightened flywheel for the summer? The flywheel already has the holes drilled for the V-8 Clutch.
No, unfortunately it is not. Should be ok on the pressure plate, but you will need an adapter. There is a Burtz in my shop right now with an adapter for the V8 transmission.
We do have the adapter from Snyder's to run the V-8 clutch and transmission. I was hoping we could put it all in this winter, but I'm out of time for this season and I want to leave the owner with a nice running Model-A to run around with for the summer.
We also have the lightened flywheel from Burtz which bolts up to the V-8 clutch and PP. Will the V-8 pressure plate mate up to the Model-A trans? I'm kind of lost on this project right now.
What's your thoughts on drilling the lifter bores for oil on the Burtz block? A lot of guys don't think it's necessary. I think it should have been done at the factory, since it's already there.

I'm still new at this stuff, so bare with me...
Thanks,
